# Meta creative specs

> Facebook and Instagram paid creative: Feed image and video, Stories and Reels, carousel, and in-stream, with the 4:5 master that crops to every placement.

## The 4:5 master

Build the Feed asset at **1080 × 1350** and both other common ratios crop straight out of it. Keep anything that must survive inside the green core.

  Cropping gets you a correctly framed 9:16, not a full-resolution one. For Stories and Reels, shoot or export dedicated vertical creative at 1080 × 1920 rather than upscaling a 759 px crop.

## Safe zones

On Stories and Reels, keep logos, pricing, disclaimers, and calls to action clear of the **top and bottom interface areas** — the profile row and username sit at the top, the caption and CTA at the bottom.

  Exact pixel extents are not restated here. They vary by placement and by how long your caption runs, and Meta revises them. Check the live safe-zone guides in Ads Manager placement previews before a production run, and preview every placement rather than trusting one.

## Working notes

* **Do not auto-crop Feed creative into Stories.** Build dedicated vertical. Automatic crops put the subject behind the interface.
* **Design for sound off.** Captions on Feed video are recommended; do not assume audio plays on start.
* **Carousel cards truncate.** Card text is clipped differently per placement, so preview each one.
* **Do not pillarbox.** For in-stream, cut a real 16:9 edit rather than adding borders to a vertical file.
