# TikTok pre-launch checklist

> The last pass before a TikTok campaign starts spending: brief complete, pixel and Events API firing, naming applied at all three levels, UTMs on every URL, cost cap sized against budget, creative variants ready and Spark authorization valid.

Run this with the campaign built and paused, before it goes live. Every row is something that costs money or breaks reporting if it's wrong at launch and is cheap to fix now.

<Info>
  This checklist assumes the [TikTok campaign process](/tiktok-campaign-process) has been followed and the [TikTok campaign brief](/tiktok-campaign-brief) is complete.
</Info>

## Brief and inputs

* The [TikTok campaign brief](/tiktok-campaign-brief) is complete and every linked document resolves.
* The parent [marketing campaign brief](/marketing-campaign-brief) lists TikTok in its channels table with a budget line.
* Every [customer profile](/customer-profile-library-overview) targeted is linked from the library.
* The number of creative variants at launch matches the brief.
* Copy is approved and sits within the limits in the [TikTok copy template](/tiktok-in-feed-copy-template) for this format.

## Tracking

* The TikTok pixel is **firing**, verified in Events Manager.
* The **Events API is connected and firing**, not just the pixel.
* The optimization event matches a row in the [event tracking plan](/event-tracking-plan) by name.
* Every destination URL carries [UTMs](/utm-standards) built to the standard.
* Clicking each ad's URL lands on a live page with no redirect chain.

## Naming

* Campaign name matches the [campaign naming conventions](/campaign-naming-conventions).
* Every ad group name matches the [ad set / ad group / variant conventions](/ad-set-group-naming-conventions).
* Every ad name matches the [ad naming conventions](/ad-name-conventions).
* Any value not already in a naming dictionary has been added to the convention page.
* If the campaign carries a test, the [experiment ID](/experiment-ids) is appended at the level the hypothesis targets.

## Settings

* Objective matches the brief, and the billing method it implies is understood.
* Budget level, type, and amount match the brief.
* Bid strategy and cost cap value match the brief.
* **Daily budget is at least 50 times the bid** where cost cap is in use.
* Placements match the brief.
* Flight dates are set and the end date is correct.

<Warning>
  Size the cost cap against the daily budget before launch. A cost cap campaign that is under-budgeted holds cost down by not delivering, so it presents as a reach problem rather than a settings problem, and usually gets diagnosed as the wrong thing.
</Warning>

## Creative

* Every video is built at 1080 × 1920, not cropped from a horizontal or square master.
* Logos, captions, and calls to action sit clear of the interface, checked against the current [TikTok safe area template](/tiktok-creative-specs).
* Each variant has a distinct hook rather than the same opening with a different edit.
* Video plays correctly with sound on, since TikTok plays with audio by default.
* Every ad has been previewed on a real device, not only in the desktop preview.

## Spark Ads

* Authorization code received for every Spark Ad.
* **Expiry date recorded in the brief**, and it falls after the campaign end date.
* The underlying organic post is live and will stay live for the flight.
* Any creator agreement covering usage is signed and recorded.

## Landing page

* The page is live and appears in the [landing page library](/landing-page-library).
* The page opens for cold traffic rather than assuming intent.
* The page's conversion action fires, confirmed with a test submission.
* The page loads correctly on mobile.

## Sign-off

* Approvals recorded, per the [approval process](/approval-process), including any [legal](/legal-review-process) or [brand](/brand-approval-process) review the work needed.
* The owner has confirmed the build against the brief.
* Launch date and mid-flight review date are recorded in the brief.
