# Template directory

> Every website and landing page template in one list: the page skeleton, the two registers a page gets filed in, and the shared templates that apply. Use it to find the right template without opening the Templates tab.

A template is a blank sheet you copy and fill in. Everything on this page is one of those. The briefs and concepts pages at the bottom hold the reasoning behind what goes in them.

## Page templates

| Template | Use it for |
| :---------------------------------------------- | :-------------------------------------------------------- |
| [Landing page skeleton](/landing-page-skeleton) | The structure and final copy of one page, block by block. |

The skeleton is the web equivalent of a copy template. It holds the field structure per block (hero headline, subhead, button, section headings) and the [length guidance](/landing-page-skeleton#copy-lengths) for each, so there's no second document to keep in step. [Copy templates](/copy-templates) explains why web lengths are house guidance and what actually constrains them.

## Registers

A register is a table you add a row to. Templates and registers both get filled in as part of publishing a page.

| Register | What it holds |
| :-------------------------------------------- | :------------------------------------------------------- |
| [Landing page library](/landing-page-library) | Campaign pages, built for one offer and retired with it. |
| [Site pages register](/site-pages-register) | Standing pages: homepage, pricing, product, contact. |

Both carry an owner, a conversion action, a review date, and a record of what points at them. Check the library before briefing a new build; an existing page that fits beats a new one.

## Templates that apply on every platform

| Template | Use it for |
| :------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------ | :----------------------------------------------------- |

| [Article writing template](/article-writing-template) | A page that has to rank. See the split below. |
| [Copy templates](/copy-templates) | The index of every platform's copy templates. |
| [Flat file template](/flat-file-template) | The one spreadsheet every report reads from. |
| [Weekly](/weekly-report-template), [monthly](/monthly-report-template), [quarterly](/quarterly-report-template), [annual](/annual-report-template) report templates | Reporting on what these pages did. |

<Note>
A landing page and an article are different things and use different templates. If the page has to rank, it's an article: see [write an article](/write-an-article) and [SEO](/seo-home).

## Not templates

These get filled in too. They hold the decisions and the checks, and the templates above hold the finished artifact:

* [Landing page brief](/landing-page-brief) The decisions, recorded before the skeleton is filled.
* [Landing page process](/landing-page-process) Brief to published and registered page.
* [Event tracking plan](/event-tracking-plan) Where the page's conversion action is defined.
