When it runs
Ask for Google ad copy in any form and this skill loads. It covers requests like “write me some RSA headlines”, “I need copy for a PMax asset group”, “fill in the search copy template”, and handing over a marketing campaign brief, Google campaign brief, search theme brief, or angle brief and asking for the ads that come out of it. It applies to one headline as much as to a full asset group, because the limits and the combination rules do not scale down. It does not cover Meta, LinkedIn, TikTok, email, or organic social. Those have their own copy templates. The three rules it enforces
1
No field ever exceeds its character limit
Google rejects an asset that is one character over, and a rejected asset means the ad serves without it. Shorter than the limit is fine. Longer never is.
2
Every headline works in any combination
Google assembles its own ads from the pool you give it. A headline that only reads correctly after another one will read badly in most of the ads that actually serve.
3
The copy advertises the actual business
A search theme describes what someone looked for, not what you sell. The skill reasons from the query to the process the searcher is stuck in, then to the features that unstick it.
What it asks you for
The skill opens with a short intake. Where the agent can put questions on screen as options, you pick the answers rather than typing them. Where it cannot, it asks in one message instead.
If you have already supplied everything, the intake is skipped.
If you do not have the documents
Missing documents are normal and do not stop the work. There are three ways in:- Pull it from the landing page. Give the URL. The skill reads the homepage, a product page, and pricing, drafts a quick brief, and asks you what is wrong with it. Correcting seven pre-filled lines takes about thirty seconds.
- Fill in a short form. Seven fields: product, audience, offer, difference, proof, landing page, and anything you cannot say.
- Just describe it. Talk, and the skill pulls the same seven fields out and reads them back before writing anything.
What it will not do
Two constraints in your documents are hard limits on the copy, not suggestions.- The approved claims table in messaging bounds what can be said. A line that is not supported there cannot run, however good it is.
- What the angle or theme must not claim is usually there because legal said so. See legal review.
Headline buckets
Every headline is tagged with one bucket. The tag is how the skill keeps any three headlines from saying the same thing, and the script rejects an untagged headline.
Across 15 headlines it covers at least six buckets and keeps any single bucket to three or fewer. Keyword-Focused matters most on Search, where the headline answers a query someone typed. On Performance Max, Display, Demand Gen, and App there is no query to match, so the weight moves to Benefit, Value, Social Proof, and CTA.
Character limits by campaign type
The script is authoritative. This table is what the copy is written against. What you get
A filled markdown template for the campaign type, ready to paste into the ad platform or hand to whoever builds the campaign. It comes with:- Every field filled to its maximum count, because more assets means more combinations Google can test.
- A Working notes section carrying per-headline character counts, bucket coverage, sample three-headline draws, and any combination flags. Delete it before handoff.
- A list of what was left blank and the fact that would unlock it. Campaign, ad group, and ad names come from the naming conventions and belong to whoever builds the campaign, so they stay empty unless you supplied them.
Templates it fills
The docs site is the source of truth for template structure. The skill’s script is the source of truth for enforcement.
