File format
- A text file, tab-separated (
.txt) or comma-separated (.csv), or an XML file. Google’s own guidance leans toward TSV or XML for a hand-built feed; a Google Sheet is also a supported source. - One row per product, with a header row using Google’s exact attribute names.
- Minimum submission frequency is every 30 days; Google recommends updating daily so price and availability stay accurate.
- Google also accepts a direct content API (JSON) connection for programmatic uploads, and this is what most ecommerce platforms use behind the scenes. A hand-built or exported flat file uses TSV, CSV, or XML instead.
